PUBLIC BEACHES
Plage de la Gravette
This popular sandy beach is located near the port of Antibes and is accessed through an archway in the old harbour wall. Although Plage de la Gravette is small, it is popular due to its prime location near the ramparts of Antibes—and is the closest to the old town. As this beach is protected by sea walls, it’s favoured by families with small children. There is a small food truck serving sandwiches, fries and beverages near the beach during the high-season.
Plage Juan les Pins
The beaches in Juan les Pins span almost the entirety of the town’s seafront. Beach clubs offer sun lounger rental and most have a beachside restaurant offering lunch and dinner with stunning views of Cap d’Antibes, Cannes Islands and out to sea. Along the seafront here, it is possible to find water-sports centres that offer water skiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, paddle boarding, etc. Buses regularly run from the old town of Antibes to Juan les Pins. For the bus, take Envibus #30 or #31 from 1 Place Guynemer.
Plage du Ponteil et de la Salis
These two beaches are convenient public sandy beaches near the old town of Antibes. There are several snack bars along the front where you can grab some lunch or an ice cream. If you want to work off those holiday lunches, there are often free group exercise classes at the Yacht Club end of Plage de la Salis. They start at around 7pm every Thursday throughout July and August. Just turn up and join in. If you’re an early bird, we recommend a sunrise paddle board from Plage de la Salis. Check the sunrise time before you leave as it obviously changes daily. Both beaches have lifeguards, parking and public toilets. For visitors who prefer a private beach, pop along to the Hotel Royal beach club situated at the beginning of Plage Ponteil (see below).
Plage de la Garoupe & Plage Keller
Plage de la Garoupe is an idyllic sandy beach with stunning views of the sea and the mountains beyond. The public part of this popular beach is relatively small so make sure you get here early in the high season. The municipality rents sun loungers and parasols here during the high season at subsidised prices. Since you cannot reserve these ahead of time, it’s best to arrive early. In fact, most are usually rented by 9am. If you prefer a little bit of Riviera luxury, Plage de la Garoupe also has two private beach clubs. Plage Keller and Plage Joseph, both have restaurants and are great spots for lunch. Plage Keller and Joseph are open daily (weather permitting) from March until the end of September. We recommend Le Rocher (the one with the red and white umbrellas) at the far end of the beach. Le Rocher has been here for decades and remains a very popular lunch spot with locals. There are often queues at Le Rocher, so we recommend booking at table, especially during the weekends.
Baie des Milliardaires
Tucked away within Cap d’Antibes is the Baie des Milliardaires (Billionaires Bay). Accessible only on foot, to reach this secluded paradise one must take a short hike from Rue Madame Beaumont. Passing the Belle-Epoque Eilenroc Villa adds to the charm of this walk. The views of the bay from parts of this walk are absolutely breathtaking and makes you understand the true meaning of azul-blue waters.
Plage des Ondes
Plage des Ondes is another of the Cap’s amazing sandy beaches with its distinguishing feature of a Petit Tour (small tower). The water at this beach is crystal clear making it a great place for snorkeling. We recommend coming to this beach at the end of the day to watch the sunset. In the summer months, locals often gather on this beach for sundowners and a picnic. It can often turn into quite a party with music and dancing. If you are lucky, you might find yourself here during one of these magical evenings.
PRIVATE BEACH CLUBS
Garoupe Beach
Plage Keller & Restaurant le César
Open from May to the end of September, Plage Keller and its restaurant Le Cesar is located on the small bay of Garoupe Plage on Cap d’Antibes. Le Rocher

Salis Beach
Royal Beach
Located at Salis Beach (a short stroll from old Antibes), Royal Beach is open from May to the end of September and is one of our favourite local beach clubs. The restaurant serves an excellent variety of salads, pastas, fish and meat dishes. Make sure to book a table and a sun lounger ahead of time as it is a very popular destination given its location near the old town of Antibes and top-notch views and food. Sun loungers on the pontoons are reserved for adults while families with children are on the beach.
Juan les Pins
Belles Rives
The Belle Rives Hotel is a famous Art-Deco five-star hotel which opened in the 1920s.This hotel has a casual beach restaurant and sun loung- ers for rent on the pontoons near the beach in Juan les Pins. We recommend this club for people looking for a private beach club with spectacular views, delicious food and wine and comfortable sun loungers.
Plage des Pirates
Conveniently located in the centre of Juan les Pins, this beach club and restaurant offers lunch and dinner during the summer season (and is also open for lunch during the off-season). Reserve a table on the beach and watch the sunset while sharing a nice bottle of rosé and a casual dinner with your feet in the sand. We enjoy coming here for dinner during Jazz à Juan in July as you can hear the music from the main stage which is located just up from this beach restaurant. The restaurant is also popular on July 14 when you can watch the Bastille Day fireworks while having dinner on the beach. During the day, the beach club also has sun loungers and parasols for rent.
Cap d’Antibes
